J Balvin has enjoyed some time away from the spotlight over the last year and a half, discovering fatherhood and working on new music. In late 2021, the Colombian superstar teased an Air Jordan 2 collaboration that’s finally set to release on September 15th alongside an expansive Air Balvin collection.

Although the 36-year-old Air Jordan sneaker is the collaboration’s headliner, J Balvin and company have taken their partnership to the next level by prepping a basketball, socks, pair of slides, varsity jacket, athletic shorts and more through the lens of self-expression championed by the reggaetonero himself. The sky-inspired “Celestine Blue” that takes over most of J Balvin’s Jordan 2 also appears throughout the rest of the upcoming capsule: The Jordan Super Play slide (or chancletas), for example, dons the eye-catching hue above the forefoot, boasting cloud motifs as well. Furthermore, the robust foam cushioning underfoot indulges in the same glow-in-the-dark capabilities as the aforementioned Jordan 2 so that wearers can keep on shining at all times of the day and night.

Included apparel and accessories keep their luminous-properties “boring,” but their color palettes, playful graphics and other design cues deliver equally-captivating style. J Balvin’s famous altered “smiley face” is plastered all across the collection, sharing real estate with a new brain logo on a multi-colored basketball. T-shirts, sweatshirts and the $500 USD varsity jacket don a custom manufacturing label that boasts a sentimental message from J Balvin to the wearer (and world-at-large): “Sigue tu luz. Cuida tu mente. Salta por tus sueños,” translating from Spanish to English to mean “Follow your light. Take care of your mind. Jump for your dreams.” With the Air Balvin Collection by Jordan Brand, José Álvaro Osorio Balvín continues to make history as a Latino in the sportswear space.

Enjoy campaign imagery for the entire Air Jordan 2 collection by J Balvin ahead. All items will launch via Nike SNKRS on Thursday, September 15th, likely to coincide with Hispanic Heritage Month. All clothing can be here; accessories here.
